| The podium awaits everyone's
arrival. Behind the fence with the colorful flags was a
very loud cannon, which was fired frequently. The whole
ceremony was very nautical/Navy oriented with saluting and
coming to attention, as if "asking permission to come-aboard". |

| Dockside and the arrival of several
Little Ships Fleet boats. |
 |
| This shot was taken just over the
railing from the dock side. Apparently, this was a very
unusual sighting of such colorful starfish that moved up for the
mussels along the shoreline. |
 |
| Car People, trying their best to
Appear Nautical! Judy succeeded with the nautical scarf on
the hat while Jim failed carrying the VCCA Logo. However,
we did get introduced along with other Dignitaries and Visiting
Clubs. After the introduction, the speaker (Rear Commodore
Jim Starwood) did explain our association with the Yacht Club. |

| Roy Queen is inducted into the
"Order of the Blue Gavel". This is a group of past
Commodores. |
 |
| Beginning our Parade of Little
Ships around the harbor, we were led by a Fire Rescue boat with
a power water spray. The "Car People" rode in the lead
boat with the parade organizer. |
 |
| The preparation and party are
winding down and our Jr. Staff Commodore relaxes! |
 |
| Viewing rearward, you can get the
sense of 9 boats in a parade. As we passed the Little
Ships headquarters, several individuals were aboard a boat to
salute as we all passed. Then they "floated in" with the
procession. Sort of car-tour like, I thought. |

The Southern California Region would
like to extend a hearty THANKS to the Little Ships Fleet Yacht
Club for all their work on this tour.
Naturally, it would not have occurred at all if it wasn't for
their boats and boat owners participation. Our Region
hopes that the Little Ships Fleet got some enjoyment out of
giving so much enjoyment to our members. Thanks Again! |
